According to what I saw reported on the Weather Channel, earlier today ( Tuesday ) the tornado in Moore, OK was upgraded to F5, This was done after weather experts had more time to study available data and examine the devastation on location. Actually, the correct designation is EF5 - any fellow bloggers who are weather geeks please correct me if the " E " is another letter. It was reported ... that winds in Moore exceeded 200mph!
One would think that since Moore has had similar devastating tornadoes over the past several years that folks there would RELOCATE to an area that's NOT in " Tornado Alley "! Rather, they rebuild - apparently NOT learning any lessons from their repeating tradgedies!!? Seems quite foolish to me!

Basically it's all related to water. The water has been used extensively from the Ogallala Aquifer for irrigation and the population explosion.
Water has also been drained from other aquifers. And the on-going drought has complicated the situation.

They are in the mountains near Tehachapi Ca. as well. A collegue told me a story similar to yours.

There is a foreign owned company which is some kind of cement plant at the far west corner of the Antelope Valley. They have signs posted way before anyone could see close enough about warning people of proposition 65(health hazard). I had sent an email to California's governer at the time stating my concern for my health living close by and he responded quickly and told me it is out of his hands, basically. I moved.

I have heard stories of underground cities we may just have one of those out in the high desert of California. I would think it is top secret so i say no more, it's not my business!

Some of these are off. The most developed countries have the highest teen pregnancy rates... including Canada, Germany, France, and England. So this does not show that the USA is a bad country, And there are countries with a lot more laws, if not more brutal laws, than us: North Korea, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Yemen, and other countries. And what's wrong with prescription drugs? I know people who have to take them otherwise they become the most depressed humans on earth. That is not entirely negative.
